Amy Woolsey (Winooski)
Graphic Designer and Illustrator
what i do
I create illustration driven work rooted in observation, drawing, and a strong sense of form. Depending on the idea, I either keep a loose, hand-drawn quality or refine it into clean, scalable vector form.
I’m drawn to architectural forms, natural elements, and the interplay between the two, often balancing organic detail with bold, graphic clarity.

About the name
Winooski comes from the Abenaki language and means “land of the wild onion,” referring to the wild leeks that once grew along the riverbanks where my dad and I used to fish when I was a kid. Abenaki is an endangered Algonquian language of New England and Quebec.
Many years ago, I moved to Texas, where my father-in-law nicknamed me “Winooski.” I looked at him a little confused and told him that wasn’t the name of my hometown, but it didn’t matter. The name stuck.
I kind of love it. When I go back to Texas and hear him call out “WINOOSKI!”, it makes me smile. It’s like Norm walking into Cheers. ❤️

Work + Licensing
I work on illustration and design projects that move between loose, hand-drawn work and more refined vector-based design. This includes editorial illustration, surface and pattern design, and identity work.
I’m especially drawn to projects that have room for storytelling, experimentation, or a strong visual point of view.
If you think we’d be a good fit, I’d love to hear about your project.
Licensing
Some of my work is also available for licensing. If you’re interested in using an existing design for your product, publication, or project, please get in touch.
